WHO ARE SOAPBOX?
Soapbox are a 4-piece punk band from Glasgow, consisting of Aidan Bowskill, Angus Husbands, Jenah Nimmo and Tom Rowan.

Initially playing any venue they could get their hands on, including cricket clubs around the West coast of Scotland; they have gone on to sell out every headline they have played so far. Career highlights currently include playing the chaotic final farewell night at the legendary Priory Bar alongside SNASH, and most recently, selling out their headline show at King Tuts this July. Infamous for their energetic and raucous live shows, they regularly feature on ‘One to watch’ lists and have received considerable praise from outlets such as Tenement TV, Fanatic Insider and Glasgow World. They have recorded two singles in their first year as a band. Their debut ‘Value Added Glasgow” was recorded and mixed by Blair Crichton of Dead Pony fame, the song was incredibly well received receiving extensive airplay both in the UK and in the US. Their second and most recent single “Mad Jungle Beat” was recorded and produced by highly acclaimed duo Johnny Madden and Chris Marshall at Castle of Doom Studios.
Their most recent endeavour involved joining Dead Pony for a few dates on their UK tour. Sharing the good word of SOAPBOX far and wide, the tour was a massive step for the band and they have plenty more exciting things in the vault for the future.

from Glasgow punks SOAPBOX. The song is
a social commentary documenting the life
many Glaswegians can relate to, using
alcohol and drugs to escape their
mundane realities. Composed naturally by
bassist Aidan Bowskill and lead singer Tom
Rowan as a byproduct of living in and experiencing Glasgow. V.A.G. is a no-nonsense, gritty, and energetic song that pulls no punches and has quickly become a
favourite in their live sets. The song was
produced and mastered by Blair Crichton
of Dead Pony fame.

from Glasgow punks SOAPBOX. The song is about the toxic aggression that exists in people that can be fuelled by alcohol, especially in Scotland where the drinking culture is so harmful.
